On September 3rd, the National Focal Point hosted the Norwegian Parliamentary Delegation at Campus XXI during their visit to Portugal, organized by the Norwegian Embassy in Lisbon.
The day began with a meeting between the Secretary of State for Planning and Regional Development, Hélder Reis, the Head of National Focal Point of the EEA Grants, Maria Mineiro, and the Norwegian delegation members. The meeting also included the participation of Hanne Brusletto, the Norwegian Ambassador to Lisbon. The first part of the morning focused on presenting an overview of the EEA Grants in Portugal and the main thematic areas of the Financial Mechanism.
The day continued with a second meeting, where Programme Operators also had the opportunity to participate. The Norwegian delegation, composed of members of the EFTA and European Economic Area Parliamentary Committees, gained a more detailed understanding of the objectives and results of the current programmes, as well as the impact of funded projects and initiatives on Portuguese society.
The agenda also includes visits to projects funded in each of the thematic areas of the EEA Grants, such as Blue Growth, Environment, Culture, Gender Equality, and Civil Society.
