What did this initiative focus on?
.PT (DNS.PT Association) and ISNIC, are the entities responsible for the management, maintenance and registration of domains under the country code top-level domain (ccTLD) corresponding to their countries, .pt and .is, respectively. This typology of entities are also designated by Registries. Registries have similar goals as to offer high levels of quality, reliability and security in the registration of, in this particular case, .pt and .is domain names, and they are fully committed to cybersecurity and sustainability at the national level.
With this initiative, .PT and ISNIC, pretend to show how sustainability and cybersecurity are important to the growth of a ccTLD and, consequently, to people and companies, and to the country. Both registries expect to improve the digital presence of people and companies in their countries.
The main goals are:
1) Strengthen external communication mechanisms, increasing close relationships with partners;
2) Strengthen the trust in .pt and .is, as a sustainable, secure and reliable domain, and thus increase the number of registrations and the renewal rate;
3) Promote both ccTLD’s as national references indigital training, sustainability and cybersecurity.
