FBR/17 - EFTA Moot Court
PDP 17 - EFTA Moot Court
What did this initiative focus on?
The initiative proposed consists of a Moot Court competition, held in Ponte de Lima, Portugal, based on the jurisdiction of the EFTA Court that would comprise teams both from Portuguese universities and from the donor state.
This moot court initiative targets law students from public law schools in Portugal and Norway that are either taking a bachelor’s or a master’s degree. There is no age distinction other than that. As such, this project emphasizes the educational purpose of this initiative, being the ultimate beneficiaries of this project the students who aspire to develop and refine their personal competencies to become qualified professionals.
This goal of this project is to establish relations between academic institutions in Portugal and Norway. The inclusion of teams from Portugal as well as from Norway in the competition will turn the initiative into an effective tool for overcoming geographical barriers. Furthermore, the aim is that these connections can extend beyond the Moot Court, being the ultimate purpose the creation of a platform for long-lasting academic exchanges and student mobility programs. Such connection aims to promote sustainable relationships between Portugal and the donor state, with an emphasis on building partnerships and assistance over time.
If this initative proves successful, the future moot courts would also to include Iceland and Liechtenstein.
