On December 11, 2024, the final event of the EEA Grants Environment, Climate Change and Low Carbon Economy Programme will take place in the Século Room of the General Secretariat for the Environment in Lisbon.
This meeting marks the end of the initiatives supported by this programme in Portugal and highlights the impact of the innovations applied in mitigating climate change and promoting a low-carbon economy.
The opening session, scheduled for 10am, will feature speeches by Marco Rebelo, Secretary General for the Environment, Maria Mineiro, Coordinator of the National Management Unit, and Hanne Brusletto, Norwegian Ambassador to Portugal, representing the partnership between the funding countries and Portugal. Afterwards, Joana Tadeu, known as the ‘Imperfect Environmentalist,’ will present a unique perspective in the panel ‘Environment in Action Programme.’
The event will also include the panel ‘The Other Side of the Programme: What Perspectives?’, moderated by journalist Filipe Luís from Visão magazine. In this panel, experts and partners such as Susana Ramos (AGAKHAN Network), Magnar Odelien (Innovation Norway), and Francisco Ferreira (Zero Association) will talk about the programme's lessons and challenges. A musical and poetic moment will enrich the event before the closing session, which will be led by Hélder Reis, Secretary of State for Planning, and Maria Graça Carvalho, Minister for the Environment and Energy.
The event is restricted to invited guests but can be watched online.
