The initiative highlighted projects and opportunities in the field of climate change mitigation, adaptation and renewable energy production.
On 1 October, the activities included a technical visit on the theme of ‘Ecosystem Management in Slovenia’. The Portuguese delegation joined other local representatives to explore the results of projects supported by EEA Grants, such as ReNature, ZAGON and JeloviZA. These projects aim to preserve and restore ecosystems, and the visit included a stop at the Škocjan Caves, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, where local measures to adapt to climate change were discussed.
On 2 October, the focus was on the challenges of renewable energy production, with a conference dedicated to the topic in Ljubljana. The conference covered co-financing opportunities for new projects, with a focus on the INFO-GEOTHERMAL, SI-Geo-Electricity and SOPOREM projects, which are contributing to the development of clean energies in Slovenia.
This visit strengthened co-operation between Portugal and Slovenia within the framework of the EEA Grants, promoting the exchange of knowledge and good practices in the field of the environment and energy.
